Permalink Reply by Nick Romero on July 26, 2010 at 2:09pm I haven't had this problem, but if you could, could you post a picture of your controller with the mod. So I can see the inside. I have a theory of why this may be occurring and I only way to know if my theory is correct is if you post a picture. Thank you.

Permalink Reply by Nick Romero on July 26, 2010 at 2:53pm My theory is that under the flex board there is some glue dried onto the traces of the motherboard, this could cause a disruption with the select button, Xbox button, start button, and sync button, you most likely have some glue dried on the select buttons trace. This would cause the select button to react with the intensaFIRE modification.
You have these 3 following options:
1. Remove all glue and clean flex board/motherboard then solder it on.
2. Somehow, either by removing just the upper contact point and cleaning the glue under it or just carefully cleaning it hoping not to break the connection, get the glue off the trace.
Or
3. Deal with it.

Permalink Reply by Patrick Mason on July 26, 2010 at 5:11pm So i opened my controller and noticed some of the glue was beneath the sync connection and that, the "sync" connection was only resting on top. It had become unglued. So i lifted up that piece of the flex board and wiped away all the glue. And guess what... It worked. Thanks for your help!
