IntensaFIRE Controller Mods for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3

Fastest & Easiest Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Controller Mods

Is there a tutorial to make the switch to turn the Intensafire on/off? I've tried searching for it, but I cannot find anything about it except some guy trying to sell it for 5$.

I just tried this myself (glue is still drying), but tested the button and everything works. There is absolutely NO documentation online for this, I even asked the mod on this site and they didn't have any answers either.

First, which is almost a must, is to solder your intensafire and not use the glue. Because when working with the wires it will put stress on the flexboard, most likely separating any weakly glued points.

You'll need 30guage wire. I used 22 or 24 and its extremely tough to manage inside the shell. I actually took a dremel to the plastic that holds the right rumble motor in place.

Remove the right rumble motor all together, as one is enough and it'll be a lot easier to find a spot for your button. Move the little motor to the left side as it's the strongest one (trust me).

You'll need the following:
Sub-mini Momentary Switch NO (Naturally On)
30 gauge hookup wire
solder iron/ flux and 60/40 solder (or similar electronic solder)
[Or you could try to use the intensafire glue if you're brave]
Drill or Dremel

I also used tinning solution on my soldering iron tip to make life easier. Not required tho. This can all be bought at radio shack.

You need to one wire from one of the two solder pads marked "BUTTON" to one prong on the switch. Another wire to the other solder pad to the second prong on the switch. Drill a hole on the back of the controller (wear the motor would have been) to mount the switch. Make sure there is clearance for the switch in the closed shell! Also that the wires are ran in a safe path!

Super glue/ hot glue / JB Weld the button in place. Or you can use the included nut, but then that would be on the outside of your controller.

The button simply turns off the rapid fire (mode 6), when pressed again it will return back to your last used mode (very nice). If you hold it, it will cycle to the next mode. This is a waste and it's faster to tap the sync button. Wish it would at least have cycled backwards. That would have at least made it see some use. Overall this is a must for Akimbo/Halo mode, when you want to switch to a one hand weapon or in Battlefield when you jump into a vehicle or need to call a mortar strike.

I'll put up better instructions and a few pictures within the next week. Just wanted to help you out, so you don't have to experiment as much as I did.

BTW, you could mount the button to the front of the shell above start or select, but would need to use a "tact switch" or something that would fit in that clearance.

Good luck!
holy crap thats amazing!! the less people that kno about the button application the better!! we should try to keep it a secret!! but thanks for sharing anyway!! ive ordered my own intensafire and its on its way!! i got so excited about your information that i already grabbed a controller and put a button in there so fast my head spun!! your a real help!! funny i had wondered what the extra solder position was!!
I have a button attached aswell and there is also a solder point for a usb... A connection from the chip to the computer. Its got DEBUG next to it. Mayby there are more things to come with this chip.

Supposedly more info on a drop shot mod is supposed to be coming within the next several weeks. Though that would require more than just reprogramming as you would also have to wire into the trace for the crouch button.
I hate being a noob. But drop shot? Is that constantly crouching while shooting? I don't entirely understand. I mean I think I do but I'd like a little confirmation that i'm not a total idiot.

I have tried drop shot mods, it is fun at first but really no different then changing your layout to tactical!

I installed a little button between the thumbstick and dpad it's pretty perfect. I also found a secret mode where only the left trigger is rapidfire. To enter the secret mode you go into mode 2 with the button and turn it off by clicking it then hold in the button to turn it on then only the left trigger will be rapid fire. I'm not sure if this is helpful at all in any games but it's interesting.

I have a question for you consumers. Would you pay extra for a controller installed with an optional switch? Like 10-15 more? Ontop of the $60 for a controller installed with it.
well i can tell you i certainly wouldnt pay 15 , 7 maybe. ten if the button is in a FANTASTIC place, and a really small button. but if youre using the same button that this guy here posted a pic of (found in radioshacks everywhere>>) then no not 15 7$ at best

post a pic of a controller with this mod you have done and we can all critique it and give a best guess as to its worth!!

BUT be sure to explain how this button mod is superior to simply having an intensafire standalone. i myself have a xcm v2 chrome blue with intensafire and optional switch, (a true hotrod)

its nice for others to know why they r paying just that much more for another stage of mod. if you say that it just turns it on and off it will be rather confusing. be sure to explain that affects gameplay quite thoroughly by quickly being able to select rapidfire instead of cycling through five different modes. also you should note to your future buyers that the optional switch also saves the mode you were in as opposed to cycling through from the start.

id pay 10 - 15 for a BxB button for halo though!! people should work on a modkit for that!!! ive seen it done and i know the mods exist but youve gotta buy the whole controller!! lets see somebody put together one of those modchips and they will fly off the shelves!!!!

Are you tired of picking up a 50 CAL and then fire off all your shots because you had your mod on? Well now with the new OPTIONALLLL!!! TACTILE SWITCH exclusive from (insert company name here) you can now turn your mod off with ease! Without the NEW TACTILE SWITCH!! you would normally have to press the sinc button which is TWO ENTIRE INCHES! from your index finger! BUT WITH THE NeW TACTILE SWITCH it is almost on your middle finger! So what are you waiting for call now (company phone)!
clearly you don't understand just how well this button works.

dont take out the rumble
drill a hole just above the rumble
evrything stays in the controller
place is better cause switch is not in the way 4 fingers and the messenger board 4 msn
so a practical and better solution
and enough space
